Luben Kumar
LUBEN is a only name throughout India.LUBEN means "LOVE".Being raised in a Christian family, Luben Kumar grew up with the idea of human equality and became early alert for the issue of discrimination against Dalits in India. He got the vision to start a project, where Dalit children can grow up with dignity and with Mercy Home his dream became true .Luben Kumar is also Yoga Teacher(Mutra Yoga) and Motivational Teacher. He follow one Religion that is "LOVE" because GOD IS "LOVE".
He is not interested to say"I am Christian"..But he is a Follower of JESUS CHRIST and reading BIBLE.That is why Mercy home Motto is "BED-BREAD-BIBLE"

Mercy Rani
Working with young people from poor backgrounds has always been a part of Mercy's life. As a teenager ,she volunteered in a programme for underprivileged youths and became a teacher at a Dalit school later on.
Luben Kumar could not have picked a more suitable wife for his vision of a Dalit orphanage. With her energy and talent to organize, she turned Mercy Home into a place, where generations of young Dalit children can become
independent adults. Firs Orphanage started in the year 1967
by father Rev.John I.Paul in the name of MERCY HOME.
Luben Kumar's wife name also MERCY.

Our staff
At Mercy home we have;
A driver, cooks and caretakers
Our caretakers look after the children with warmhearted patience, love and work to bring a bright smile to their faces.
Driver
By Bus, Auto Riksha or private car – Our driver keep Mercy Home running. As a bus driver, he takes the children to school and pick them up after. He also drive Mercy to the vegetable market or picks Luben up from School. No doubt, he is an indispensable part of the staff!
Cooks
Our cooks are in charge of the kitchen. Rice, Chutney, Sambar – they know exactly how to feed children in a nutritious and delicious way! Besides, they also serve as 'extended caretakers'. They sleep each in one room with six children and help, wherever support is needed.

Netherlands
Anneke Bouman runs our partner organization 'Friends of Mercy' in the Netherlands, which supports 40 children. Every year she comes to spend the school summer break together with us in Tiruvannamalai.
